Sunset wraps qualified walls, MDF, cabinetry, millwork, doors, counters, furniture, panels and commercial fixtures. Clear protection film can also add a sacrificial barrier against selected forms of scratching, scuffing, staining, etching and repeated-cleaning wear while preserving the surface’s existing appearance.
Two different purposes
Architectural interior film gives a qualified surface a new material expression. Clear surface protection film is selected to help defend an existing finish. Sunset reviews the substrate, edges, cleaning routine and expected use before recommending either system.
Wood, stone, metal, textile, solid and specialty finishes can reshape an interior without automatically replacing the element underneath.
Product-specific transparent films can help protect compatible surfaces from everyday wear and selected spill or cleaning exposure.
Protection depends on the specified film, substrate, exposure, dwell time, edge condition and maintenance. Film does not make a surface cut-proof, heat-proof, impact-proof or chemically impervious.
Qualified applications
Many smooth, stable and properly prepared interior surfaces can be candidates. “Wrappable” is a condition-based determination, not a blanket promise.
Level, repaired and properly prepared drywall can carry wood, stone, concrete, metal, textile or solid-color film.
Uniform, dry MDF can be wrapped after pores, cut edges, seams and imperfections are correctly sealed and prepared.
Cabinet boxes, doors, drawer fronts, end panels, toe kicks and suitable trim can be coordinated in one finish system.
Desks, transaction counters, front panels, returns and selected work surfaces can create a stronger arrival experience.
Suitable interior and rated door assemblies can be refreshed when the specified film and installation details match the application.

Where savings can happen
The largest opportunity is often avoided replacement: retaining sound cabinetry, MDF, millwork, doors, counters or panels can reduce demolition, hauling, new fabrication, finish carpentry and operational downtime.
Wrapping can preserve the existing element, limiting tear-out and disposal when the substrate remains serviceable.

It is a self-adhesive decorative surfacing material installed over qualified interior substrates. Bodaq offers wood, stone, metal, textile, solid and specialty directions designed for applications such as walls, furniture, doors, cabinets, elevators, ceilings and millwork.
It is a transparent or nearly transparent sacrificial layer selected to help protect an existing finish from particular forms of wear. Depending on the specified product and substrate, that may include light scratching, scuffing, abrasion, staining, etching or dulling from brief acidic or chemical contact, fingerprints, oils and repeated cleaning. It is a different material system from decorative architectural film.
No. Performance depends on the exact film, substrate, spill or chemical, concentration, temperature, contact time, edge exposure and maintenance. The film can absorb selected wear and may be replaceable after damage, but it does not make a surface cut-proof, heat-proof, impact-proof or chemically impervious. Yes, qualified MDF can be wrapped, but preparation is critical. The board should be uniform, dry and smooth. Porous faces and especially cut edges require correct sealing and primer. Swollen, crumbling or moisture-damaged MDF should be repaired or replaced first.
Yes, when drywall is smooth, stable, dry and properly prepared. Imperfections can telegraph through the film, so joints, repairs and surface finish must meet the required standard before installation.
Often, yes. Bodaq is designed for flat, curved and some compound surfaces. The radius, seam location, edge termination, substrate and finish selection determine whether a specific form is a responsible candidate.
Depending on condition, the scope may include cabinet doors, drawer fronts, boxes, finished end panels, fillers, toe kicks, shelves, moldings and some trim. Interiors, hardware, counters and damaged components are evaluated separately.

No. Architectural film is a self-adhesive surfacing system intended for a broader range of prepared substrates and three-dimensional details. Wallpaper is primarily a wallcovering. The correct choice depends on the surface, design, durability and future-removal requirements.
There is no responsible universal percentage. Savings depend on what replacement work is avoided: demolition, disposal, fabrication, new material, finish carpentry, downtime and related trades. Sunset prices the actual film scope and can help you compare it with a realistic replacement scope.
No. Paint may cost less for a simple, suitable painted wall or cabinet scope. Film becomes especially valuable when texture, consistent wood or stone expression, repeatability, reduced demolition, faster sequencing or a finish that paint cannot create matters to the project.
Service life depends on the product series, substrate, preparation, exposure, cleaning, impact and maintenance. Bodaq states that its high-quality interior film can maintain its appearance for 10 years or more, but Sunset confirms the appropriate specification and does not promise one lifespan for every application.
Film changes the finish, not the structure. Dents, swollen board, failed coatings, deep texture, loose laminate and uneven repairs may remain visible or interfere with adhesion. Those conditions must be corrected before installation.
No. Compatibility varies by film and substrate. Glass, metal, plastic, stone, vinyl flooring, painted surfaces and other materials require product-specific review and sometimes testing. Copper, porous materials, damaged coatings and specialty finishes may need a different approach.
High-clarity film can be discreet, but edges, reflections and slight optical changes may still be visible depending on lighting, film thickness and viewing angle. A sample is the best way to set the right expectation.
No claim should be made that the film protects people from illness. Some films use an antimicrobial additive to protect the film's own hardcoat from degradation. Normal cleaning and public-health practices are still required.
Selected removable products are made for smooth glass, metal and plastic surfaces such as touchscreens and credit-card readers. Device compatibility, visibility, touch response, edges and manufacturer requirements must be confirmed first.
Selected floor-and-wall protection products are designed for compatible stone, vinyl flooring, bathroom surfaces and walls. This is a separate specification from high-touch countertop or device film, and slip resistance, cleaning and coating compatibility must be reviewed.
